Shadow Day at PHSU STL

Step into the world of health sciences for a day!  PHSU St. Louis invites prospective nursing students to experience life on campus through our Shadow Day Program. Designed for students curious about careers in nursing, science, and healthcare, this immersive day offers a window into the rigor and excitement of a health sciences education — guided every step of the way by a current PHSU student ambassador. 

Each shadow day begins with a warm welcome at 8:30 a.m., where students are paired with a PHSU student ambassador who will be their host and guide for the day. 

From 9:00 to 11:45 a.m., students participate in an authentic classroom experience: 

• They will sit in on Anatomy & Physiology Lab session, where they'll observe real lab work, and the kind of hands-on learning that prepares future nurses and health professionals. 

After class, students enjoy lunch with their ambassador and nursing faculty from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m., followed by a guided tour of the PHSU campus — including labs, simulation centers, study spaces, and student life areas. 

It's a relaxed, conversational way to ask the questions that matter: What's nursing school really like? How do you balance coursework? What makes PHSU special? 

Whether your students are confident in a healthcare path or just beginning to explore, our Shadow Day is a meaningful, low-pressure way to see what's possible in the future. Counselors, please share this opportunity with your most curious learners — we look forward to welcoming them to our campus.
